Rev. Kevin Johnson, the president of the Mount Carmel Outreach of the Institute for Christian Apologetics said it well on his website that while all scripture is important, some portions deserve more attention than others. And there are essential doctrines that define what a Christian should believe, but there are numerous other points that allow for “loving and courteous disagreement” within the body of believers.

Among those essential Christian doctrines, we believe…

WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.

WE BELIEVE that there is only one God eternally manifested in the person of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, in His vicarious and atoning sacrifice through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension and in His future personal return in power and glory upon the earth. He is more than just a wise man or a good teacher. He is the only way to the Kingdom of God.  He is God.

WE BELIEVE that the gift of Salvation is free from God and requires only a conscious and heartfelt choice on your part to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  Ephesians 2:8,9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.”

And while Salvation is not dependent upon our good works, WE BELIEVE that the Lord shall indeed bless us if we obey His commands. In the great "faith vs. works" debate, faith and trust in Christ is all that is required to go to Heaven. But that does not diminish the importance of doing good works in the name of Jesus Christ. This is how we seek GOD’S kingdom as written in Matt. 6:33.

Furthermore, WE BELIEVE in a literal and eternal hell. The only ones destined to dwell there are those who have not embraced God's gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We DON'T believe that God "sends" anyone to hell, but ironically enough, people choose to go to hell rather than accept God's free gift of Salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ…. even “good” people.
