August 20, 2016  –  Tania Rae Nicholson from Belvidere, IL. – Contemporary Christian Singer/Songwriter – Originals and Covers – Born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin, Tania grew up with parents Robert and Lorelei who planted the seeds of Christianity and impressed on her the importance of a church life. They also gave her an acoustic guitar for Christmas when she was 14 years old. In the late 80's, she sang with a couple dance bands; Star Cross & Hot Ice, and had her first taste of live performing, writing and recording. In early 2012, Tania released her first album "Soul Addiction" as a fund raiser for the Rockford Rescue Mission's Women's Life Recovery Program. Fierce Youth Outreach (a Gang intervention organization) included the single "Soul Addiction" in their compilation CD titled "In His Hands", and in June Tania became a BMI artist. April 28th, 2013 brought Tania her first award. She won the Best Contemporary Christian Demo for her song "Carrie Cries" which is the story of an abused woman and her path to Jesus' love. Attending the awards ceremony in Hollywood, CA at the House of Blues Foundation Room was an affirming experience. The song was included on the 2013 Indie Music Channel Awards Edition CD. Summer brought a calling from the Holy Spirit to leave P-H-M and begin to focus soley on her own music ministry. Fall 2013 brought Tania's new release, "Black & White" a nine song EP that was released in conjunction with Tania's first book, "Black & White The 30-Day Devotional". In November a charity opportunity presented itself and Tania donated the song, "No Place Like Home" for use on the "Will Sing For Food" album to benefit the Rock River Valley Food Pantry. Currently she is touring the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin Christian coffee house circuit, and playing at festivals and church events. She has also developed a music ministry that walks the listener through some of the most difficult times in her life. She shares her weaknesses, failures and human frailty while showing how God; in His amazing grace, heals, transforms and restores. Check out her Web Site: www.tanianicholson.com
